Tila Homam, also spelled Thila Homam, is a powerful Vedic ritual performed with ‘Til’ or ‘Ellu’ to get rid of the difficulties arising due to Pithru Dosha (Ancestor Dhosha). Homa or Havana are Hindu ritual of offering holy materials to the Agni or fire while chanting mantras and Brahma Gayatri,Vishnu Gayatri, Rudra Gayatri japas. Thilahomam is mainly performed after offering Tharpana to forefathers. Gokarna is the right place to do this religious work.

Reasons for Pitru Dosha

The main reasons for Pithru Dhosham (Pitru Dosha) are the non performances of srardhams and other rituals correctly to appease our ancestors. Similarly, Pitru Dosha may happen if anyone of the family members may have died in accidents or unnaturally and the departed soul does not get peace. According to various Purans, it is referred that if any ancestors up to the 4th generation on the mother’s side and up to the 7th generation on the father’s side may have died at an early age or have had an unnatural death, the currently generation may have been suffering from Pitru Dosha. And to remove this Pitru dosha we need to perform  Tharpana and Thila Homa ritual correctly and satisfy our ancestors and obtain their blessings.

Lord Mahaganapthi is also known as Ganesha, Gajanana, Vinayaka,Vighna Nivaraka etc. In Hinduism people worshiping Mahaganapathi because lord Ganesha eradicates/ to destroy all kinds of hindrances and problems/ difficulties faced by an individual. For this it is necessary to perform Atharva Shirsha Homa which can bring peace among individuals and also provides a smoothing effect to the mind as well as the body. •  For each dhravya 10 members recite the 10 main mantras 10 times. Totally for each dhravya the recitation is  done 1000 times,bringing the grand total of recitations to 4000

Location:
This is  0.4 km from Mahabaleshwar Temple.

Brief :
It is a man made Pond. Almost structure like Shiv Linga, at the center Koteshwara is there.
Minimal deep in some area and Very deep in some areas not preferred to swim.

It is Pushkarani of Mahabaleshwara Temple. On entrance Kamteshwara Temple is there which is the North West end, on the South West end Hanumanteshwara is there, on South East end Belli Mantapa & Patta Vinayaka is there. In mid of North Teertha Ganapathi is there. There are few other temples also around it, they are Shri Rama Temple, Sri Krishna Temple, Kala Bhairava Temple, Sode Matha & Kameshwara Matha.

This is the place where Piligrim's take holy bath. Here on Mantapa's around Kalyani Apara Karma and Kriya Karma is done.


The Wall and Steps to Kalyani was built in 1950 to 1965 with long breaks in between.

Few times in the year the Diyas will be lighten up around the Kalyani, when Mahabaleshwara Utsava Murthy will be taken around Koteshwara on Country Boat. The occasions are After 7 days of Shivaratri , Karthik Hunnime. On occasion of Patta Vinayaka Utsava also Diyas will be lighten around the Kalyani.
